| Thanksgiving Place Cards |

When you have a lot of guests over for a holiday dinner, a place card minimizes the chaos when it's time to sit for dinner. Thanksgiving-themed place cards are not that difficult to make and are a fun way to decorate the holiday table.
One simple place card is a pilgrim hat. Flower pots and Styrofoam cups are the perfect shape for the hats. Once the flower pot or disposible cup is painted black, add a strip of white paper or craft foam and a small gold buckle made of paper. Attach the name tag with a little bit of tape or glue.

To make this pilgrim place card, I used craft foam in black, white. yellow, and beige. The main part of his shirt is a black rectangle. I then glued on a beige circle for the head, before adding the other pieces. I made my Pilgrim's arms V-shaped to hold the name card. I added small half circles of beige to the bottom of the arms for the hands. When making the white collar, I followed the shape of the head, so it fit well around the neck. Cut out these pieces and let your kids assemble the pilgrims, you can do the prep work and the finishing touches.
The hair is made from strips of yellow foam cut. I drew the smile and checks on with marker. I used googly eyes, but it's fine to draw them on if you don't have googly eyes. Another small piece of yellow foam was used for the buckle. Once your Pilgrim is complete, add a name card using a small piece of cardstock, craft foam, or paper.
